Cheap ways to call home whilst overseas

Staying in touch with friends and family whilst overseas can be a very expensive process. The increased popularity of mobile phones has made calling home convenient but not necessarily affordable.

At eurochange we offer our customers two very reliable, cost effective alternatives to ensure that you can stay in touch without breaking the bank.

International SIM Cards

For those travellers who prefer the flexibility that comes with using a mobile phone abroad but want to make significant savings on call charges an International SIM Card is the perfect option for you.

As well as maintaining the complete freedom associated with using a mobile phone, an International SIM Card (GOSIM Global+) will allow you to receive calls on your mobile completely free of charge in over 75 countries including USA and Canada.

You can also receive SMS / Texts for free in all of the 175 countries that the SIM (GOSIM Global+) can be used in.

International SIM Cards will provide you with significant savings of around 20% on calls made in the European area and up to 85% in countries further afield including popular tourist destinations such as Egypt, Turkey, Australia and Thailand as well as popular business destinations such as China and USA when compared with your existing Pay as you go or Pay monthly contract.

The SIM card works in unlocked mobile phones only so please ensure that your phone is unlocked prior to putting the SIM card in, the SIM card will provide you with a new mobile phone number that you should provide to your friends and family to make them aware of your different ‘travel’ mobile phone number, it is also recommended to record a voicemail message advising of your alternative ‘travel’ mobile phone number in order for anyone calling your ‘normal’ number to be able to call you.

The SIM is valid for life and does not expire.

International Phone Cards

For those travellers who will have access to a landline, a hotel phone or easy access to a public payphone the Talk Direct International Phonecard will offer you significant cost savings.

This easy to use Phonecard is available to purchase from all of our bureaux in denominations of £5, £10 or £20.

As an example a customer using a £10 Phonecard in Spain on a landline calling back to the UK will benefit from 171 minutes of call time – a cost of 5.83p per minute.

We are sure that when you compare this to the actual landline, hotel phone or public payphone charges this will represent significant savings.

The Talk Direct International Phonecard remains valid for one year from the date of the initial use. There are NO fees for inactivity so if you travel regularly you can use it on your next trip.
