Many of you will be aware; the brand new £1 coin is shortly to go live, filling wallets and purses the land-over...but what happens to your horded quids?
As of October 15th, the old circular pound will become illegal tender (meaning you can no longer spend it) and the new 12 sided pound coin
will take-over. The worry is that some of you, quite a few in fact, might forget to empty your savings animals and find yourselves out-of-pocket.
So what do you do with your piggy bank pounds?
We have a few suggestions.
You can smash open your saving’s with a hammer (feel that delight) and take your money into your bank and deposit it into your account.
You could tip your piggy bank onto its back, gently prise-open the rubber plug and then deposit the money in your bank account.
Or, and this might very well be the one we’d go with…count-up your pounds, type ‘cheap holidays’ into Google and pop by eurochange
on the way.
For those of you without Piggy Banks, it’s not too late, here are a few that you could smash in the not-too-distant future.
