Coming to a currency exchange near you soon, the new 100 and 200 Krone Norwegian bank notes are set for release at the end of May, 2017.
The 100 Krone note will feature the Gokstad
ship; built around 900AD and famous as the archetypal Viking boat - designed as fast and suitable for high sea voyages, with the 200 Krone note highlighting the Norwegian Cod and Herring fishing industry.
The entire series of Norwegian notes is estimated to find itself in mass circulation by the end of 2019, with the 100 and 200 Krone notes being the first.
within the bank notes include a ‘floating ring’; an optical illusion that shows a…floating ring, a ‘running anchor’; similar in concept to the ‘floating ring’, a watermark in the design of a Puffin bird and the traditional security thread runs top to bottom.
The 50 krone and 500 krone notes will follow and the 1,000 krone note will be issued last, sometime in 2019.
