Nuneaton is most famous for being the birthplace of Victorian author George Eliot (real name Mary Anne Evans, 1819 – 1880). She became one of the most prominent authors of her time, using a pseudonym to disguise the fact she was a woman. A statue of Mary Anne was unveiled by the George Eliot Fellowship 1986 to honour her novels and stands in Newdegate Street, Nuneaton.
There are several culture stops in Nuneaton, from the Bosworth Battle Heritage Centre and Arbury Hall to the Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery. There are also lots of activities for kids including soft play areas, Plantasia Atherstone and go karting!
