Maidenhead cannot be found in the Domesday Book by its name. It was known as Elentone and was home to 6-8 villagers, a few cottages and one plough. During WW2, Maidenhead was almost destroyed but was rebuilt almost from scratch. Four Maidenhead born soldiers received the Victoria Cross for their bravery.
Nowadays, Maidenhead is a great day out for all, from visiting the stunning Windsor Castle to visiting zoos, farms, parks and more!
